Wealth Management Process
As your investment advisor, our responsibility is to partner with you to build and preserve your wealth. The foundation of Crimson Oak Wealth Management’s investment philosophy is – “Portfolio allocation based on careful assessment of market risk”. Capital preservation is the overriding priority in our portfolio management strategy.
Crimson Oak’s portfolio management strategies seek to offset erosion of standard of living from inflation and from catastrophic market crashes such as 2000-02 and 2008-09. Based on advanced research, we know individuals and institutions do not have to suffer the kind of destruction of wealth that occurred in those market crashes. Utilizing sophisticated, research-based, disciplined portfolio management strategy we employ a “safety first” approach designed to maximize profits and defend portfolios from catastrophic losses in the long-term. This approach exits financial markets somewhere near the top and capital is re-deployed in equity markets near the bottom. We do not attempt to precisely mark market tops and bottoms, which can only be defined exactly in hindsight. Our approach is ideal for long-term investors interested in capturing most of the growth in market cycles and minimizing losses during significant downturns. This approach is not suitable for those attempting to time the market.
Crimson Oak uses fundamental research as well as technical analysis in managing portfolios. We use sophisticated strategies that manage portfolio risks beyond asset allocation and diversification. We employ diversification, but then layer it with our proprietary strategy so that portfolios are moved to a heavily defensive allocation soon after the initiation of a market crash. Client portfolios are rebalanced with higher allocation towards equities after markets start rising and we are in the range of maximum financial opportunity. Our primary objective is capturing growth in rising markets and managing downside portfolio risk in market crashes.
